SFC Assurance
SFC Assurance is the most basic and inexpensive of the analytical SFC offerings. For those looking for more automated system, please proceed to the SFC Method Station II.
The system is used for manual injection of single compound as found in QC⁄QA labs. The results are higher productivity, faster equilibrium, less labor, and typically 90% less solvent. By manually injecting single compound into the column oven injection valve the SFC Assurance is a less expensive analytical instrument, and capitalizing on the green chromatography SFC advantages. Due it simplicity and cost advatange, the analytical SFC Assurance was designed for the academic, R&D labs.
More on SFC...
"Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) uses carbon dioxide (CO2) that has been compressed into the ´supercritical state´ in which it can diffuse through solids like a gas while dissolving materials like a liquid. When used as the mobile phase in chromatography it can give separations similar to those gained using normal phase chromatography but in much reduced time frames. Significant savings can be realized during the lifetime of the products as the systems can condense the CO2 directly from the atmosphere meaning that fewer recurring consumable costs are incurred. Supercritical Fluid Chromatography is better for separating isomers and enantiomers, and structurally related compounds, including by–products, impurities, degradants, and metabolites. Supercritical Fluid Chromatography is a viable analytical technique that can withstand the rigors of method validation in the pharmaceutical industry
